Description

Deliciously rich chocolate-filled Hamantaschen perfect for Purim celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a dough forms.
  6. Chill the dough for about 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  7. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  8. Using a round cutter, cut out circles from the dough.
  9. Place a teaspoon of chocolate chips in the center of each circle.
  10. Fold the sides of the circle towards the center to create a triangular shape.
  11. Place the Hamantaschen on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  12. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
  13. Let them cool before serving.

Notes
