Delightful brioche donuts perfect for Thanksgiving, fluffy and delicious.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3/4 cup whole milk (warm)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and yeast. Add the eggs, melted butter, and warm milk. Knead the mixture until it’s smooth.
  2. Let It Rise: Cover the dough with a damp cloth and place it in a warm spot for about 60 minutes. The dough should double in size.
  3. Shape Your Donuts: After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface. Use a donut cutter to cut out donut shapes.
  4. Heat the Oil: In a deep pot, heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry Donuts: Carefully fry each donut for about 1-2 minutes per side or until they are golden brown. Drain them on paper towels.
  6. Glaze or Dust: While the donuts are still warm, dust them with powdered sugar or dip them in your favorite glaze before serving.

Notes

Serve warm for the best flavor. Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature or frozen for up to 2 months.
