  • Total Time: 60 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans apple pie filling (21 ounces each)
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (about 15.25 ounces)
  • 1 stick unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • Optional: pinch of cinnamon, chopped pecans, or a smidge of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick spray.
  3. Spoon the apple pie filling into the dish.
  4. Drizzle caramel sauce over the apples.
  5. Sprinkle the dry cake mix on top without mixing it.
  6. Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix, covering as much as possible.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and bubbling at the edges.
  8. Let cool a bit before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute half the butter with applesauce. Top with ice cream or extra caramel before serving for added flavor.
