- 2 cans apple pie filling (21 ounces each)
- 1 box yellow cake mix (about 15.25 ounces)
- 1 stick unsalted butter (melted)
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- Optional: pinch of cinnamon, chopped pecans, or a smidge of sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Grease a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick spray.
- Spoon the apple pie filling into the dish.
- Drizzle caramel sauce over the apples.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix on top without mixing it.
- Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix, covering as much as possible.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and bubbling at the edges.
- Let cool a bit before serving.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute half the butter with applesauce. Top with ice cream or extra caramel before serving for added flavor.
