Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
- Shredded cheese, optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until softened.
- Layer the chopped cabbage over the beef mixture.
- Pour the tomato sauce over the layered ingredients and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Cover the skillet with a lid and cook on the stovetop for about 10 minutes until cabbage starts to soften.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or shredded cheese before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, let the onions and garlic caramelize before adding the beef. You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or plant-based meat for a lighter option.
