Description

Chewy, buttery cookie bars baked in a single pan, perfect for sharing.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups (330 g) packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
  • 2 cups (340 g) chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light.
  2. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Press the dough into a parchment-lined 9×13-inch pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 22–28 minutes until golden and set.
  8. Let cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Chilling the dough before baking helps achieve a chewy texture.
