Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup cherry pie filling
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk warm milk and melted butter together. Gradually add this mixture to the dry ingredients until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the cherry pie filling evenly over it.
- Roll the dough tightly from one long side and slice it into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish with space between them. Let them rise for another 30 minutes while you preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until they turn golden brown. Drizzle with a glaze made from powdered sugar and milk before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with a drizzle of glaze or plain. Can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days, or frozen for up to three months.
