Delightful rolls filled with sweet cherry pie filling and wrapped in soft, pillowy dough.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk warm milk and melted butter together. Gradually add this mixture to the dry ingredients until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the cherry pie filling evenly over it.
  6. Roll the dough tightly from one long side and slice it into 12 equal pieces.
  7. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish with space between them. Let them rise for another 30 minutes while you preheat the oven to 375°F.
  8. Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until they turn golden brown. Drizzle with a glaze made from powdered sugar and milk before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a drizzle of glaze or plain. Can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days, or frozen for up to three months.
