Description

Enjoy a twist on traditional burgers with these delicious burger bowls topped with a creamy special sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef or plant-based protein alternative
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups fresh lettuce, chopped or torn
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup diced pickles
  • ½ cup diced onions (sweet or raw, as preferred)
  • 1 avocado (optional), sliced
  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp paprika
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped
  • Additional pickles
  • Paprika or chili flakes for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the ground beef or plant-based protein, seasoning with salt, pepper, and your choice of spices until it is browned and fully cooked. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, garlic powder, and paprika until smooth. This will be your special sauce.
  3. Dice the tomatoes, onions, and pickles. Tear or chop the lettuce and slice the avocado if you are using it. Prepare all fresh produce for quick assembly.
  4. Place the cooked protein at the bottom of each bowl. While the protein is hot, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top so that it slightly melts.
  5. Add the fresh veggies over the cheese and drizzle generously with the special sauce.
  6. Garnish each bowl with extra pickles, freshly chopped herbs (such as parsley or cilantro), and a sprinkle of paprika or chili flakes for added freshness and color.

Notes

Serve warm and consider offering extra special sauce on the side for an added kick. Customize toppings according to personal tastes.
