Ingredients
- Gai lan (Chinese broccoli) – 1/2 pound
- Bell peppers – 1-2 large
- Garlic, minced – 3 cloves
- Canola oil – 3 tablespoons
- Dark soy sauce – 2 tablespoons
- Oyster sauce – 2 tablespoons
- Cornflour – 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce – 1 1/2 tablespoons
- Chinese cooking wine – 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil – 1/2 teaspoon
- White pepper – a dash
Instructions
- Heat canola oil in a wok over high heat until hot.
- Add minced garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds.
- Add gai lan and bell peppers, and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they are crisp.
- Mix in dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, Chinese cooking wine, sesame oil, and white pepper.
- Thicken with cornflour mixed in water, and stir to coat the vegetables.
- Cook for an additional minute and serve hot.
Notes
This dish pairs well with rice or noodles. Adjust the sauces to taste for a stronger flavor.
