Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round cake pans.
- In one bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition; stir in vanilla.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients alternating with milk until just combined.
- Divide the batter between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool before frosting with your choice of icing.
Notes
Make sure all your ingredients are at room temperature for a smoother batter. Avoid over-mixing the batter; mix just until combined for a light and fluffy cake.
