- 2 lb ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 small finely chopped onion
- 1–2 tbsp oil (for browning)
- 2 (10.5 oz) cans condensed French onion soup (or 2 packets French onion soup mix)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 6 slices Swiss or provolone (optional)
Instructions
- Form meatballs from ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Parmesan, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion.
- Brown meatballs in a skillet with oil for 2–3 minutes per side.
- Transfer browned meatballs to a 6-quart slow cooker.
- Whisk together the French onion soup, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce; pour over meatballs.
- Cook on LOW for 4–6 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours.
- Optional: Add cheese on top for the last 15 minutes to melt.

Browning meatballs enhances flavor; chill mixture before rolling for better shaping; control salt levels for personal preference.
