- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour and sugar.
- In another bowl, cream softened butter until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually incorporate milk and vanilla into the butter mixture until smooth.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until just blended.
- Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool before serving; top with whipped cream and nuts as desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, add chocolate chips or fruit. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days at room temperature.
