Description
Delightful, fluffy brioche donuts flavored with warm spices, perfect for your Thanksgiving celebration.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups brioche dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- Oil for frying (neutral oil)
Instructions
- If using homemade brioche, combine flour, yeast, sugar, eggs, milk, and melted butter in a large bowl. Knead until smooth, then let rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour). If using store-bought dough, follow package instructions for rising.
- Once risen, punch down the dough gently and knead in the nutmeg and cinnamon until well mixed.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick on a floured surface. Cut out donut shapes using a donut cutter or two round cutters.
- Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry donuts one at a time for about 2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- While warm, toss in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon or drizzle with icing.
- Serve fresh on a platter with family and friends.
Notes
For the best experience, serve donuts warm. You can store them in an airtight container but they are best enjoyed within a couple of days.
