Description

Delightful, fluffy brioche donuts flavored with warm spices, perfect for your Thanksgiving celebration.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups brioche dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Oil for frying (neutral oil)

Instructions

  1. If using homemade brioche, combine flour, yeast, sugar, eggs, milk, and melted butter in a large bowl. Knead until smooth, then let rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour). If using store-bought dough, follow package instructions for rising.
  2. Once risen, punch down the dough gently and knead in the nutmeg and cinnamon until well mixed.
  3. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick on a floured surface. Cut out donut shapes using a donut cutter or two round cutters.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry donuts one at a time for about 2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  5. While warm, toss in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon or drizzle with icing.
  6. Serve fresh on a platter with family and friends.

Notes

For the best experience, serve donuts warm. You can store them in an airtight container but they are best enjoyed within a couple of days.
