- 4 pounds beef short ribs
- 1 onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup red wine
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Season the beef short ribs with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet, brown the ribs on all sides over medium-high heat.
- Place the ribs in the crockpot.
- In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until softened.
- Add the beef broth, red wine, soy sauce, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
- Pour the mixture over the ribs in the crockpot.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours until the meat is tender and falls off the bone.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or roasted veggies, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
For best results, use well-marbled beef short ribs and be sure to brown them properly for added flavor. Feel free to adjust seasonings to taste.
