- 4 bell peppers
- 1 pound ground meat (beef or turkey)
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried herbs (oregano, basil, etc.)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cut the tops off the peppers and remove the seeds.
- Parboil the peppers in boiling water for about 5 minutes, then drain.
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground meat, cooked rice, diced tomatoes, garlic powder, onion powder, dried herbs, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff each pepper with the meat mixture until full.
- If using, sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the stuffed peppers.
- Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish and cover with foil.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, uncovering for the last 10 minutes.
- Ensure internal temperature reaches at least 160°F (70°C).
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs.
Notes
