- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 2 cups apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon butter, diced
- 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the pie crust and chill it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine sliced strawberries, apples, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon.
- Pour the fruit mixture into the prepared pie crust, and dot with diced butter.
- Cover the filling with another pie crust or lattice top, then brush the top with beaten egg.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbling.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a beautiful presentation, dust with powdered sugar before serving. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for added richness.
