Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar (or red wine vinegar)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (fresh is best)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes
  • 1.5 to 2 pounds sirloin steak, cut into 1.5-inch cubes
  • Bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes (any veggies for skewering)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl or zip-top bag, whisk together all marinade ingredients until well combined.
  2. Add cubed steak to the marinade, ensuring each piece is coated. Seal the bag or cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, up to 8 hours.
  3. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  4. Thread the marinated steak and veggies onto skewers, alternating meat and vegetables.
  5. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill kabobs for 8–10 minutes, turning every few minutes until steak reaches your desired doneness.

Notes

Allow kabobs to rest for 5 minutes after grilling to lock in juices. For best results, use metal skewers and marinate for 2-6 hours.
