Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Optional: colorful Halloween M&Ms, sprinkles, candy eyeballs

Instructions

  1. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar.
  2. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips and any optional Halloween candies.
  6. Scoop onto lined baking trays and add additional candies on top.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes, underbaking slightly for softer cookies.
  8. Let cookies rest on the tray for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
