- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 3 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 1/2 cups diced fresh figs
- 1 cup chopped toasted hazelnuts
- For the frosting: 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, blend the wet ingredients: eggs, sugar, and melted butter.
- Combine the wet and dry mixtures, then fold in the diced figs and chopped hazelnuts.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Let the cake cool completely before frosting with honey cream cheese frosting.
Notes
Toast hazelnuts before use for best flavor. Cool the cake completely before adding the frosting.
