A delightful and refreshing drink perfect for hot summer days, combining sweet strawberries with brewed black tea.
Ingredients

- 6 black tea bags
- 8 cups water (for brewing tea and syrup)
- Ice cubes (as needed for serving)
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, washed and hulled
- 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 cup water (for syrup)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice (optional)
- Fresh strawberry slices or mint sprigs (for garnish)
Instructions
- Boil 8 cups of water. Steep 6 black tea bags in boiling water for 5 to 7 minutes, then remove the tea bags and let the tea cool slightly.
- In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of strawberries, 1 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup water. Cook over medium heat until the strawberries break down into a syrup. Strain the syrup to remove seeds and pulp if desired.
- Once the tea has cooled, stir in the prepared strawberry syrup and add lemon juice if desired. Mix well.
- Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the Southern Strawberry Sweet Iced Tea over the ice. Garnish with strawberry slices or a mint sprig. Serve chilled.
Notes
Adjust the sugar level according to your taste. Can use frozen strawberries or different herbs for variation.
