Description

A comforting casserole combining the sweetness of maple with tender sweet potatoes, perfect for holiday gatherings and family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 4 large sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Salt to taste
  • Pecans for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and chop sweet potatoes into chunks, then boil in a large pot until tender.
  3. Drain and mash the sweet potatoes until smooth.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes with maple syrup, melted butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish and smooth out the top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until heated through and the top is slightly crispy.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving, garnished with pecans if desired.

Notes

For best results, use fresh sweet potatoes and real maple syrup.
