- 4 large sweet potatoes
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Salt to taste
- Pecans for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and chop sweet potatoes into chunks, then boil in a large pot until tender.
- Drain and mash the sweet potatoes until smooth.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes with maple syrup, melted butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish and smooth out the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until heated through and the top is slightly crispy.
- Let cool slightly before serving, garnished with pecans if desired.
Notes
For best results, use fresh sweet potatoes and real maple syrup.
