  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and washed
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

  • 1 1/2 cups French fried onions
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Blanch the green beans in boiling water for about 5 minutes until bright green but crisp. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Stir in the blanched green beans and half of the French fried onions until well coated.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the prepared dish, top with the remaining fried onions and cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For more flavor, consider adding garlic powder or onion powder to the soup mixture. Use fresh green beans for best taste, and check the casserole halfway through baking.
