Description

Ingredients

  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup baking soda (for the boiling bath)
  • Coarse sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water and let it sit until bubbly.
  2. Mix the flour and salt in a bowl; add the yeast mixture and knead for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Cover and let the dough rise for 1 hour until it doubles in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  5. Divide the dough into pieces and roll each into a long rope; shape into pretzel forms.
  6. Boil water with baking soda and briefly dip each pretzel for texture.
  7. Bake pretzels for 15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Sprinkle with coarse salt and serve warm.
