- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 12 ounces cooked pasta (penne or rotini)
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or oregano for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet, brown the ground meat with the chopped onion and minced garlic over medium heat.
- In the slow cooker, layer cooked pasta, meat mixture, marinara sauce, and a blend of cheeses, alternating layers.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
- Once done, garnish with fresh basil or oregano before serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, replace the meat with lentils or veggies. Use gluten-free pasta for dietary restrictions.
