- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 packet Italian dressing mix
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Soft Italian rolls for serving
- Provolone or mozzarella cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Optional: Sear the beef chuck roast in a hot skillet until browned on all sides.
- Layer the beef, spices, and broth in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours, until the beef is fork-tender.
- Remove the beef and let it rest for 10 minutes before shredding.
- Serve on Italian rolls, drizzled with cooking liquid and topped with cheese if desired.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free rolls or lettuce wraps. Add red pepper flakes for more spice.
