Description

A comforting and flavorful chicken tikka masala made effortlessly in a slow cooker, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup full-fat coconut milk
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Lemon or lime juice for finishing

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in yogurt and spices for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  2. Add marinated chicken, onions, garlic, ginger, and crushed tomatoes to the slow cooker.
  3. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  4. Stir in full-fat coconut milk during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  5. Finish with lime or lemon juice before serving.
  6. Serve over rice or with naan, garnished with cilantro.

Notes

For dairy-free, substitute heavy cream with coconut milk. Adjust spices for heat preference.
