- 2 lbs boneless chicken thighs
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons garam masala
- 1 tablespoon turmeric
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch fresh ginger, grated
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, marinate the chicken with yogurt and spices, including garam masala, turmeric, cumin, coriander, garlic, and ginger. Allow it to sit for at least 30 minutes.
- Layer the marinated chicken in the slow cooker, adding chopped onions and tomatoes on top.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
- Before serving, stir in the heavy cream and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with basmati rice or naan.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute coconut milk for cream and omit yogurt. You can adjust the spice level according to your preference.
