Description

A comforting and flavorful chicken dish made easy with a slow cooker, featuring tender chicken in a creamy spiced sauce.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, marinate the chicken with yogurt and spices, including garam masala, turmeric, cumin, coriander, garlic, and ginger. Allow it to sit for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Layer the marinated chicken in the slow cooker, adding chopped onions and tomatoes on top.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
  4. Before serving, stir in the heavy cream and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  5. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with basmati rice or naan.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute coconut milk for cream and omit yogurt. You can adjust the spice level according to your preference.
