Description

A delightful twist on classic donuts, this Simple Jam Donut Focaccia features a fluffy, fruit-filled bread that is perfect for brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2¼ teaspoons)
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Your favorite jam (fruit preserves recommended)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water with sugar and yeast. Let it activate for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead until smooth and elastic.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Shape the dough onto a baking sheet and create indentations for the jam.
  6. Fill the indentations with jam and brush the top with olive oil.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality ingredients and let dough rise in a warm environment.
