Ingredients

- 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 package of pastry dough (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix cherries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice to make the filling.
- Roll out the pastry dough and cut into circles.
- Place 1-2 tablespoons of cherry filling in the center of each dough circle.
- Seal the edges using a fork to prevent leakage.
- Brush the tops with egg wash (beaten egg with water).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
