- 1 lb ground beef (or lamb)
- 1 cup carrots, diced
- 1 cup peas
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup cream
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground meat over medium heat, then add the onion and carrots, and sauté until soft.
- Stir in the peas and Worcestershire sauce, season with salt and pepper, and allow to simmer.
- Boil potatoes until tender, then drain and mash with butter and cream until fluffy.
- Layer the meat filling in a baking dish, then spread the mashed potatoes on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, replace ground meat with lentils or mushrooms. Ensure to check for gluten-free Worcestershire sauce if necessary.
