Description

Easy-to-make sheet pan chocolate chip cookies that deliver warm, chewy cookie bars, perfect for sharing at parties or as a quick weeknight dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200 g) packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups (312 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon fine salt
  • 2 cups (340 g) chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  3. Fold in the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt, followed by the chocolate chips.
  4. Press the dough evenly into a parchment-lined rimmed sheet pan (18 x 13 inch).
  5. Chill the dough for 20–30 minutes.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 18–22 minutes until the edges are golden and the center is set but slightly soft.
  7. Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

Using room-temperature ingredients ensures a better texture. For a more complex flavor, consider browning the butter before creaming.
