Description

A quick and flavorful Vietnamese dish that combines sweet, savory, and spicy notes for an unforgettable weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked jasmine rice, for serving
  • Fresh cilantro and sliced green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken in soy sauce and ginger for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Heat the oil in a hot skillet or wok.
  3. Sauté the marinated chicken until golden and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the sugar to the pan, stirring until melted and caramelized.
  5. Coat the chicken in the caramel sauce and cook for another minute.
  6. Serve over jasmine rice and garnish with cilantro and green onions.

Notes

For deeper flavor, marinate chicken for longer. Use fresh ginger for best results.
