- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 500g ground meat (beef or lamb)
- 2 tbsp curry powder
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 100g raisins
- 2 eggs
- 100ml milk
- 10 sheets filo pastry
- 100g melted butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic in a pan until translucent.
- Add the ground meat, curry powder, turmeric, and cinnamon; cook until meat is browned.
- Mix in the raisins, eggs, and milk to create the filling.
- Layer 4-5 sheets of filo pastry, brushing each layer with melted butter.
- Place the filling in the center and fold the pastry to seal each parcel.
- Brush the tops with more melted butter and place on a baking tray.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
Cover unused filo pastry sheets with a damp cloth to keep them moist while working.
