A delightful dish of roasted mushrooms in a browned butter and thyme sauce, perfect as a side or for enhancing pasta and meats.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh cremini or button mushrooms
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh thyme leaves (or 1 tbsp dried thyme)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Rinse the mushrooms under cold water and pat them dry. Slice if desired.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add minced garlic and thyme to the skillet, sautéing for one minute until fragrant.
  5. Toss in the mushrooms and season with salt and pepper before transferring them to the baking sheet.
  6. Roast for 20-25 minutes until tender and caramelized, stirring halfway through.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat gently before serving.
