- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons red food coloring
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

- 1 cup cream cheese, for filling
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar, for filling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg, red food coloring, and cocoa powder; mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Chill the dough for about 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Once chilled, scoop out balls of dough and create a small indent in the center of each ball.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until set around the edges.
- Allow cookies to cool completely before adding the cream cheese filling.
- To make the filling, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and spreadable.
- Fill the indents in the cooled cookies with the cream cheese mixture.
Notes
For even baking, use a cookie scoop for uniform sizes. Always allow cookies to cool before adding filling.
