- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3 tablespoons pizza sauce
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 50 grams sliced pepperoni
Instructions
- In a big bowl, toss in the salt, baking powder, and flour. Whisk to mix.
- In another bowl, crack the egg and whisk in sugar, vanilla, oil, and milk until smooth.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, stirring gently until no dry flour remains.
- Preheat your waffle maker and lightly spray it with nonstick spray.
- Scoop batter onto the hot waffle iron and spread it out, then cook for about 5 to 7 minutes until golden brown.
- Let the waffles cool slightly, then cut each in half.
- Spread pizza sauce on the bottom half, top with mozzarella and pepperoni, then broil until cheese bubbles.
- Place the tops back on and serve immediately while hot.
Notes
Serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping. Feel free to add herbs or mix in other toppings like veggies or different cheeses.
