A fun twist on pizza and waffles, these Pizza Stuffed Waffles are cheesy, customizable, and perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 tablespoons pizza sauce
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • 50 grams sliced pepperoni

Instructions

  1. In a big bowl, toss in the salt, baking powder, and flour. Whisk to mix.
  2. In another bowl, crack the egg and add sugar, vanilla, oil, and milk. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients. Stir gently until no dry flour is visible.
  4. Lightly spray your waffle maker with nonstick spray and preheat.
  5. Scoop batter onto the hot waffle iron and spread it out. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes until golden.
  6. Let the waffles cool briefly, then cut each one sideways into two halves.
  7. Spread pizza sauce on the bottom half, add mozzarella and pepperoni, then broil until the cheese bubbles.
  8. Cover with the top half and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve warm with extra pizza sauce on the side. Pair with a side salad for a balanced meal.
