- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3 tablespoons pizza sauce
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 50 grams sliced pepperoni
Instructions
- In a big bowl, toss in the salt, baking powder, and flour. Whisk to mix.
- In another bowl, crack the egg and add sugar, vanilla, oil, and milk. Whisk until smooth.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients. Stir gently until no dry flour is visible.
- Lightly spray your waffle maker with nonstick spray and preheat.
- Scoop batter onto the hot waffle iron and spread it out. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes until golden.
- Let the waffles cool briefly, then cut each one sideways into two halves.
- Spread pizza sauce on the bottom half, add mozzarella and pepperoni, then broil until the cheese bubbles.
- Cover with the top half and serve immediately.
Notes
Serve warm with extra pizza sauce on the side. Pair with a side salad for a balanced meal.
