Scale
- 10 cups day-old sourdough or French bread, cubed
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 large onion, diced
- 3 stalks celery, chopped
- 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon dried sage
- 1 teaspoon thyme (fresh or dried)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking dish.
- Cube the day-old bread and let it dry out if needed.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté diced onions and chopped celery until soft (about 5 minutes).
- In a large bowl, combine the sautéed vegetables with the dried bread cubes. Pour in chicken broth while gently tossing to moisten evenly. Season with sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.

- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Use day-old bread for the best texture. Feel free to add your favorite mix-ins, such as cooked sausage, nuts, or dried fruits. Adjust the herbs according to your preference.
