  • 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a round cake pan, sprinkle brown sugar evenly on the bottom, and arrange pecans on top.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix well. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter over the arranged pecans and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool slightly before flipping onto a serving platter.

Notes
