A simple and delicious no-knead sandwich bread that is easy to make and perfect for sandwiches, toast, or enjoying fresh with butter.

  • Total Time: 75 minutes
  • Yield: 1 loaf 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water and sprinkle in the yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
  3. Cover the dough with a clean towel and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  4. Punch down the dough and transfer it to a greased loaf pan. Shape it into a loaf and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and it sounds hollow when tapped.
  6. Let the bread cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days, or freeze it for up to three months. Thaw at room temperature before using.
