Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup strawberry puree
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (for ganache)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for ganache)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Divide the batter into three bowls: one for chocolate (add cocoa), one for vanilla (leave plain), and one for strawberry (add strawberry puree).
- Spoon the batters into the loaf pan in alternating layers, being careful not to blend them.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- For the ganache, heat heavy cream until just boiling, then pour over the chocolate chips, stirring until smooth.
- Drizzle ganache over the cooled loaf cake and let it set before serving.
Notes
Chill batter between layers for best results. Adjust flavors as desired by swapping strawberry for raspberry or other fruit purées.
