Description

A delightful, crunchy snack perfect for Navratri, combining wholesome fox nuts with vibrant spices and fresh toppings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups makhana (fox nuts)
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sweet tamarind chutney
  • 2 tablespoons green chutney
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Lightly roast the makhana in a pan until they are crunchy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the roasted makhana with chopped tomatoes, onions, pomegranate seeds, and coriander leaves.
  3. Add sweet tamarind chutney, green chutney, lemon juice, chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, and salt. Mix well to combine.
  4. Serve immediately in individual bowls, garnished with extra pomegranate seeds and enjoy!

Notes

For a vegan option, omit dairy toppings and substitute yogurt with coconut or cashew-based dressing. Adjust spices according to taste, especially if serving to children.
