- 1 lb (450g) ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
- 8 small burger buns or slider rolls
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
- 1 cup sliced pepperoni or preferred toppings
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground meat with diced onion, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well and shape into small patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the bottom halves of the buns on a baking sheet and spread a spoonful of pizza sauce on each. Layer with toppings and place a cooked patty on top.
- Sprinkle mozzarella over each patty and top with the other half of the buns.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the cheese melts. Broil for the last 2-3 minutes for a crispier finish.
Notes
Feel free to experiment with different toppings and cheeses. Make patties ahead of time for quick preparation.
