- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warmed milk and sugar; sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit for 5 minutes.
- Add in flour, salt, eggs, and softened butter; mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, about 8-10 minutes.
- Place in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size, around 1 hour.
- Roll out dough into a rectangular shape; spread a mixture of cinnamon, chai spices, and sugar on top.
- Roll the dough tightly and slice into individual rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking pan and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- For glaze, mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth and drizzle over warm rolls.
