Description

A warm, spiced, and delicious bread infused with brown butter and pumpkin, perfect for fall gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup pumpkin purée
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup streusel topping (made with cold butter, flour, and sugar)

Instructions

  1. Brown the butter in a saucepan until golden brown and nutty.
  2. In a bowl, mix the brown butter with pumpkin purée, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until combined.
  3. Add in eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, spices, and salt.
  5. Gently fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into a greased loaf pan and sprinkle with streusel topping.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with butter or cream cheese frosting. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
