A classic comfort food featuring a flavorful sweet glaze that balances the savory meat perfectly.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, eggs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the mixture.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in a baking dish.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together ketchup and brown sugar to create the glaze.
  6. Coat the meatloaf generously with half of the glaze.
  7. Bake for 1 hour, applying the remaining glaze halfway through the cooking time.
  8. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  9. Let the meatloaf rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
