Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  4. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add mushrooms and onions, sautéing until soft.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir well.
  6. Gradually add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, whisking until a smooth gravy forms.
  7. Once meatloaf is cooked (internal temperature of 160°F/71°C), serve topped with mushroom gravy.

Notes

Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes after baking for juicier slices.
