Description

Crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside, these Mashed Potato Cheese Puffs are a delightful way to use up leftover mashed potatoes. Perfect for snacks or side dishes.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, shredded cheese, green onions, egg, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix until well combined.
  3. Scoop out portions of the mixture and shape them into small puffs.
  4. Roll each puff in breadcrumbs to coat.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  6. Fry the puffs until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve warm as a side dish or snack.

Notes

Make sure your mashed potatoes are not too watery for better shaping. Experiment with different types of cheese for varied flavors.
