Description

Delightful dumplings filled with savory goodness, perfect for family gatherings or a cozy dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Filling of choice (potato, meat, or vegetables)

Instructions

  1. Combine flour and salt in a bowl. Create a well and add eggs and water.
  2. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 5-10 minutes.
  3. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest for 20 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, prepare your filling by sautéing chosen ingredients and seasoning them.
  5. Roll out the dough thinly on a floured surface and cut into squares.
  6. Place a small amount of filling in the center of each square.
  7. Wet the edges with water, fold the square over the filling, and seal tightly.
  8. Bring a pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Cook kreplach for 5-7 minutes until they float.
  9. Serve in broth or with sautéed onions. Enjoy!

Notes

Customize the filling as desired. Serve with chicken soup or sautéed vegetables for a complete meal.
