Description

A fast, flavor-packed twist on classic sloppy joes with a tangy-sweet gochujang glaze and lean turkey.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey (93/7)
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 12 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
  • Chopped scallions
  • Slider buns, buttered and toasted

Instructions

  1. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and sauté onion and garlic in neutral oil until translucent, about 3 minutes.
  2. Add ground turkey, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, and cook until no pink remains, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Stir in gochujang, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and sesame oil; reduce heat to medium and simmer for 6–8 minutes until glossy and slightly thickened.
  4. Finish with toasted sesame seeds and scallions, then spoon the mixture onto toasted slider buns.

Notes

For gluten-free options, use tamari or gluten-free buns. For dairy-free, skip cheese or use dairy-free alternatives.
