Description

These juicy baked honey garlic chicken thighs are sticky-sweet and garlicky, featuring tender meat with a crisped skin. A perfect weeknight comfort food.


Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp cold water

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Bake on a wire rack over a rimmed sheet at 400°F (200°C) for 35-40 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160-162°F.
  3. Meanwhile, combine honey, soy sauce, vinegar, minced garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes in a saucepan, and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Whisk in cornstarch slurry and cook until glossy.
  5. Brush glaze over hot thighs and broil for 1-2 minutes to caramelize, watching closely.
  6. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Make sure to pat the chicken dry for crispy skin and use an instant-read thermometer for best results.
